New Delhi: Now make a habit of taking food during the journey on the train because now the railways is considering removing the pantry car from 300 trains.

Overall, the All India Railways Federation has appealed to the Ministry of Railways to remove pantry cars through a letter. Also appealed to replace the railway pantry car with AC 3-tier.
The railway argues that no revenue is being generated from the pantry, while the deployment of AC coaches will increase the number of passengers. This will increase earnings.
According to the information received, the railway has also accepted this proposal.

It is believed that this decision of Railways will affect at least 10,000 jobs in the railway sector. Usually, 20-30 people work in the pantry car of a train, which includes cooks and waiters.
Accordingly, if a decision is taken to remove pantry cars in 300 trains, then about 10 thousand jobs will be affected.
Currently there are about 350 pairs of trains that have pantry car facilities. These include Mail, Express, Superfast and Premium service trains.
The union has also said with its proposal that the people working in the pantry are not railway staff. They work for private contractors. In such a situation, the rail union has no objection to this proposal.
It is estimated that by replacing the pantry car with AC 3-tier , the Railways will get about 1,400 crores annual revenue. Tariff generation has become very important for railways. As compared to the previous year, the tariff revenue of railways has declined by about 43% in the March-August period.
