Now that the deadline is near and if you don’t accept the privacy policy, you may miss out on availing some basic and important features of the application. This might be worse than losing your entire access to your account. On its FAQ Page, WhatsApp updated that users will not lose access to their accounts if they fail to accept to their policy.

The FAQ Page read that WhatsApp users will be given reminders to decide on the updated privacy policy before May 15th. Beyond May 15th, undecided users will get persistent reminders to either accept or decline. But users’ functionality will be gradually limited in case of failing to do so after persistent reminders past May 15th deadline.

The limits might be as worse as failing to receive messages and calls to your number. The first and foremost loss will be your access to your chat list/contact list in WhatsApp. Users might still be able to respond to audio or video calls and can read and reply to text messages from other users as well initially.

But if users decline to accept to the new privacy policy set, upon persistent reminders they might eventually be prohibited from receiving text messages, audio and video calls. And, if users delete accounts without accepting to the privacy policy their chat history and backups will be completely erased the next time they try to login.
