Serum Institute of India is the world’s largest manufacturer of vaccines. Serum CEO Adar Poonawala received the Asian Award of the Year. He has received this honor for his support in the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Serum Institute tied up with, Oxford University and AstraZeneca, to produce a large amount of corona vaccine(Covishield). With this, the trial of Covishield started in India.
Serum Institute was founded in 1996 by Cyrus Poonawalla, the father of Adar Poonawala. Poonawala said that his institute will help poor countries so that they can easily get the Coronavirus vaccine.

On Saturday, Stratus Times Foreign Editor Bhagyashree Garekar said, “There has not been a day this year when there has been no news related to this pandemic.” At the end of the year, the virus busters of Asia have come out with a ray of hope.
