India: E – commerce giant Amazon, on Thursday, announced that about 100 (SMB) small and medium businesses and start-ups on Amazon.in are likely to launch over 1000 new products across 17 categories on Prime Day dated from August 6 to August 7.
Several local sellers on Amazon will also be making their Prime Day debut in India, Amazon.in said in a statement.
Further, the statement said that Start-ups and small businesses from Amazon’s Launchpad programme will be launching unique and differentiated products across varied categories, namely, health & personal care, beauty & grooming, grocery and home products.
Besides this, Prime Day in India will witness artisans and women entrepreneurs from ‘Karigar’ and ‘Saheli’ offer remarkable deals on handmade products from Tribes India, Blue pottery by Aditya Blue Pottery, and Jewelry from Giva.
Sellers from Karigar will offer more than 270 handcrafts collected from artisans across the country.
Government emporiums, APCO handlooms from Andhra Pradesh and Mrignayanee from Madhya Pradesh will be showcasing a wide range of hand-woven apparels starting from Mangalgiri, Venkatgiri & Chirala to Maheshwari & Chanderi, the statement added.
