Mumbai: Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV, was shifted to Taloja Jail on Sunday. Arnab was earlier kept in the Quarantine Center of Alibaug.
“He will be kept in a quarantine center inside the jail for a few days before shifting to barracks,” said the SP of Taloja Jail.
Arnab was arrested on 4th November along with two other accused – Feroze Sheikh and Nitesh Sarada. This whole case is of the year 2018, when an interior designer committed suicide by accusing the three of not returning the money.
The designer alleged that he had set up a studio for Republic TV for Arnab Goswami, after which Goswami did not gave lakhs of rupees. After his arrest, Goswami was presented before the Alibaug Magistrate Court on the same day, from where he was remanded to 14 days judicial custody till 18th November.
The Bombay High Court on Saturday reserved its order on the interim bail plea of Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami. A division bench of Justice SS Shinde and Justice MS Karnik said they would try to hear the order at the earliest.
The bench also allowed Arnab and two others arrested in the case, Feroz Sheikh and Nitish Sarada, to approach the sessions court in Alibaug for regular bail and asked the court to consider it within four days.
