The Supreme Court gave an order on interim bail to Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and two other criminals. The order of the bench is that Arnab Goswami and the other two accused got the order to be released on interim bail on bond paper of 50 thousand rupees.
The Supreme Court also said that the High Court should not have rejected the interim bail appeal. Not only this, the Supreme Court has also said that if the state government targets any person, then they should also know that there is a court to protect the freedom of the people.
The Maharashtra government should ignore Arnab’s taunt. Meanwhile, Arnab’s lawyer Harish Salve has appealed to the CBI to investigate the case. He also said that if a citizen commits suicide in Maharashtra and blames the government, will the Chief Minister be arrested?
Justice Chandrachud said, ‘If we as a Constitutional Court do not protect individual liberty, then who will? … If a state intentionally targets a person, a strong message needs to be given. Our democracy is exceptionally resilient ‘.
Harish Salve said at the time of the debate on Arnab’s bail plea that the state’s powers have been misused by ignoring the malice and facts.
