Latest Fortune reports state that Bill Gates slips to third position in richest person list. Bill Gates had been in the top position for years till Amazon owner Jeff Bezos overtook him in 2017.

But, on Monday Tesla’s co-founder Elon Musk became the second richest person in the world. After the surge in the price of Tesla shares, it takes Musk’s wealth to a new high. This year $100.3 is added to Musk’s net worth. Surge in company shares, took Musk’s net worth from $7.2 billion to $127.9 billion recording higher rise overall.
It is reported that the main source of income of Musk property comes from Tesla and SpaceX companies. Tesla is a global leading luxury car making company and SpaceX is a leading private space researching and inventory company.

Musk holds many shares of both companies but the main reason for the surge in property is Tesla’s share demand.
Bill Gates and Musk seem to be professional buddies only. Once, Gates told that he is not fond of Tesla cars and does not want to buy them. Musk gave a neutral reply to his comment. Also, Bill Gates is contributing his major assets to Bill Melinda Gates foundation for development of poor people which results in decline of his wealth.
