Business News:Bharti Airtel Ltd informed that it has formed a new telecom entity to cover all its digital entities and telecom entities all under one umbrella. The new entity named Airtel Ltd will cover all its telecom businesses, digital businesses like Wynk Music Airtel Xstream, Airtel Thanks, Mitra Payments, Airtel Ads, Airtel IQ, Airtel Secure and Airtel Cloud, which were earlier under Airtel Digital Ltd.
Only Bharati Telemedia Ltd, the Direct-to-home (DTH) service provider of Airtel will function as a separate as of now and will be soon Airtel Ltd. The company said that Bharati Telemedia will sit alongside Airtel Ltd as a separate entity for a while and will be soon binded into one, as per the National Digital Communications Policy, 2018.
Before taking the logical step to merge into one, Airtel has sought clarity from the government on licensing policy of DTH and Telecom services as both come under different ministries of the central government, Information and Broadcasting and Communications ministries.

Airtel Payments Bank being a digital asset, will remain a separate entity but will continue to work closer with the consumer base and will help to realise the value provided by payments and financial services sector.
