New Delhi: On Thursday, Central Board of Secondary Education declared that it has decided to cancel the remaining class 10th and 12th examinations, scheduled to be held between July 1 to 15, due to the outbreak of COVID– 19.
Solicitor – General, Tushar Mehta, informed the Supreme Court that the examinations have been cancelled. “As soon as conditions will be conducive, we could conduct the CBSE class 12th examinationsfor students who opt for it,” said Mehta.
A Bench headed by Justice A M Khanwilkar, was briefed by Mehta that a scheme has been prepared to assess Class 12th students on the basis of last three examinations or they can opt for examinations to be conducted later.
However, remaining class 10th examinations stands cancelled with no provision of re – examination. The students of class 10th will be assessed on the basis of their performance in the last three exams.
