India News: “Metroman” of India, Dr E Sreedharan has officially joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in his home state Kerala on Friday.

News of Dr E Sreedharan decision to join the BJP Kerala went popular for the last few weeks in the nation. He joined the party officially at Changaramkulam in Malappuram district, as the Vijaya Yatra rally members were present there.
Sreedharan who is 88-years-old now earned his nickname “Metroman” for his efforts and achievement in constructing the New Delhi Metro and Konkan Railways. He was the Managing Director of DMRC from 1995 to 2012. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 and was featured as Asia’s Heroes by TIME magazine in 2003.

Dr. E. Sreedharan had done a string of achievements and has received appropriate recognitions for it. He says that this decision to join BJP has been one of the best moments of his life. Dr. E. Sreedharan expressed his dissatisfaction with the current and previous governments in Kerala as they were not able to bring progressive developments to the State.
He also expressed his interest in participating in the upcoming Kerala Assembly Polls in April, if party requests and also as a Chief Ministerial candidate itself if possible. He promised to bring tangible investments and industrialisation to Kerala if he becomes the leader in future. He says he does not consider BJP a communal party in his opinion.

He says he wants to change the image of the party. Many political experts seem to have shocked at his decision, some criticised him that he has got desires for power and even say he is naïve to think that his engineering solutions will not be enough to change the societal problems of the country.
