Mucor Septicus ( Yellow Fungus ) : A patient in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad has been found infected with all three fungal infections, Black, White, and also Yellow Fungus as official on Monday informed.

Dr. BP Tyagi, an ENT (Ear-Nose-Throat) specialist said that the patient was recently detected with Yellow Fungus as he was already suffering from Black and White fungal infections.
As cases of Black and white fungus cases already have been detected in numbers, doctors detected the new yellow fungal cases as well in recovering COVID-19 patients. While talking about the patient, Dr. Tyagi told ANI reporters that the patient is 45 years old and a resident from Sanjay Nagar.

The patient who was recovering from COVID-19 through his treatment for the past two months. However, as he was detected with black and white fungus infections his condition started worsening with his one side face swelling due to which he was unable to open his eyes, bleeding from the nose, and urine for past four days.
The patient had to be admitted to hospital suddenly and upon medical examination revealed a new Yellow Fungus infection, said Dr. Tyagi who is currently treating the patient.
Mucor septicus or also commonly known as Yellow fungus infection comes with symptoms like lethargy, loss of appetite and weight loss, in recovering COVID-19 patients. Conditions may get as worse as leakage of pus, slow healing of wounds, sunken eyes due to malnutrition and organ failure, and necrosis if not met with appropriate medical treatment on time.
Amphotericin. B –
Dr. Tyagi also pointed out that the fungal infection starts from internally and its is important to keenly notice any symptoms as it might become fatal anytime of symptoms are missed. As for now, doses of Amphotericin. B only help in the disease.

And, more importantly he said it is necessary to check the temperature of room as it is one of the important contributing factors to the spread of fungus within the body. Too much humidity promotes the growth of fungus within the body.
Dr. Tyagi advices that COVID-19 patients must immediately seek medical advice to prevent further complications in their bodies.
