Business News: Flipkart reported on Monday that it has signed up a pact with Adani Group to boost the logistical capabilities of Flipkart in India and added that the new pact with add up to 2,500 direct new jobs in the company. In this partnership, Walmart’s Flipkart will team up with Adani Logistics Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Pvt. Ltd.

Flipkart will also team up with Adaniconnex to build a new data handling centre at Chennai, to increase the data handling capabilities and industry solutions of Walmart in the future. The Adaniconnex is new venture between Adani Groups and Edge ConnexX.
As per the new deal, Adani and Flipkart will build a 5.34 lakh sq ft warehouse, also known as fulfilment centre at Mumbai that will become the new centre for Flipkart’s logistical operations in western India. The new centre will be supporting the growing demand in the region and will support market access of thousands of MSMEs.

The new centre will be built with the state-of-the-art technologies to handle at least 1 crore units of sellers’ inventories. The new centre is expected to be finished and get active by the third-quarter of 2022. This facility will employ the local population around the area and will create 2,500 employment opportunities in the future.
In addition to the new holding facility, the new data handling centre to be built in Chennai mentioned earlier, will be designed with the highest standards of sustainability and security. The new data centre focuses more on security and to keep the data of the growing demand locally within India.
Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Pvt Ltd appreciated the new pact of Flipkart and Adani Groups to build new facility with state-of-the-art technologies. He appreciated the spirit of atmanirbhar bharat of the pact. He added that broad partnership in lines of logistics and data handling will help Flipkart’s physical and digital infrastructure greatly.
