Pune: The demolition of the SPPU and E-Square flyovers would be completed by August 10, declared the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA), on Tuesday.
According to the officials, the project was likely to be completed by the end of July, however due to lack of options for complete closing of the roads, the project got delayed. 80 per cent of the work on the University flyover’s demolition is complete, while the E-Square flyover was 20 per cent demolished, PMRDA officials said.

The three supporting structures of the University flyover are expected to be pulled down by Wednesday and the area will be cleared by Thursday, PMRDA engineer said, adding, “The work of demolishing the E-Square flyover will begin in full swing after that.”
The demolition work of the two flyovers had started amid the 10 day total lockdown imposed in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad between July 14 and 23.
