New Delhi: Former Union Minister Jaswant Singh has died of a heart attack at around 6:55 am today.
Jaswant Singh was admitted in the hospital since 25th June. According to the information, he was ill since his fell in his house in August 2014, after which he was admitted to the Army’s Research and Endreferral Hospital. But due to not being well, he had to go to the hospital again several times, recently he was admitted again in the month of June this year.
The hospital says that they could not be saved even after a million attempts.
Singh’s various organs had stopped functioning properly.
Today the funeral of Jaswant Singh will be held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Expressing grief over the demise of the former Union Minister, Prime Minister Modi wrote, Jaswant Singh ji served our country diligently, first as a soldier and later during his long association with politics. During Atal ji’s government, he handled important departments and left a strong imprint in the world of finance, defense and external affairs. I am saddened by his demise.
The Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, “Deeply pained by the passing away of veteran BJP leader & former Minister, Shri Jaswant Singh ji. He served the nation in several capacities including the charge of Raksha Mantri. He distinguished himself as an effective Minister and Parliamentarian.”
He further said, “Shri Jaswant Singh ji would be remembered for his intellectual capabilities and stellar record in service to the nation. He also played a key role in strengthening the BJP in Rajasthan. Condolences to his family and supporters in this sad hour. Om Shanti.”
