Government allows OCI, PIO Card Holders to travel to India

government on Thursday decided to allow OCI, PIO and more categories of foreign Nationals and Indian Nationals to travel to India.

The Union Home Ministry said ,”the government on Thursday decided to allow OCI, PIO and more categories of foreign Nationals and Indian Nationals to travel to India. Extending further relaxations to travel guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic”.

PIO card-holders and the other foreign nationals planning to visit India for any purposes, except on the Tourist visa, are permitted to enter by air and water routes through authorized air and sea immigration check posts. 

The home ministry also said that “Under this graded relaxation, the government is restoring with immediate effect on all existing visas, except electronic, tourist or medical visas”.

“Foreign Nationals intending to visit India for medical treatment can apply for a medical visa including for medical attendants”. If the life span of the visas has expired, fresh visas of appropriate categories can be obtained easily from the Indian mission or post concerned.

This includes flights utilized under ‘Vande Bharat’ mission, this decision will authorized foreign nationals to come to India for various purpose such as medical health’s , business, conferences, employment, studies, research etc.
