The Centre had issued the draft rules for the Rashtriya Raksha University Act 2020, which was sanctioned in Parliament monsoon session to set up the multi-disciplinary university for imparting the education on the research , polishing and collaboration of various wings of criminal justice system , polishing and correctional administration.

According to the order of the Ministry of Home Affairs, opinions and suggestions are sought from the general public on draft rules, which will be finalized after the month. 

The act states that, the Rashtriya Raksha University of Gujarat will replace the Raksha Shakti University. While the Raksha Shakti was a state university, the Rashtriya Raksha University will be the central institute.

The draft rule state the VC, suggest the panel of not less than five names each for post of the chairperson and the members of the governing body, ideally within eight weeks earlier to the likely dates of the vacancy. 

The central government might consider the panel suggested by the VC, while selecting out the members of governing body.  

The term of the office of other non-ex-officio members of governing body will be for a period of the three years. A nominated member of the governing body will be eligible for re-nomination for next term.

The term of office of the member nominated to fill the casual vacancy will continue for remainder of the term of member in which place he or she has been nominated for.
