Ballia, UP: Hathras case – BJP MLA Surendra Singh, who represents the Bairia constituency in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia, on Saturday stoked controversy once again.

” I am a MLA as well as a teacher. Such incidents (rape) can be stopped with the help of (sanskar) culture and good values, not from the shashan (governance) nor from the Talwar (sword)”, he said in his bizarre statement.
While answering to a question by a reporter, who asked him “Why do you think rape cases are continue even as is people say this is Ram Rajya?” the BJP MLA said “It’s my dharma, government’s dharma but family’s dharma too… While government is committed to protect, the family should be committed too to imbibe good values in their children. Sanskar and Sarkar can make India beautiful, there is no other alternative,”.
Over this patriarchal statement of BJP MLA Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon expressed her anger on twitter.
“Teach daughters how to not get raped??? Can he hear himself talk? THIS is the MINDSET that needs to change! Its so messed up! Why can’t they give some Sanskar to their sons?” actor said in her tweet.
