Car and Bike News:Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced to temporary halt of production operations across its major four plants from Saturday. The company has manufacturing plants at Manesar in Haryana, Tapukara in Rajasthan, Narsapura in Karnataka and Vithalapur in Gujarat.
The decision comes as many cities across India are under lockdowns. The nation’s second-largest two-wheeler maker, will utilise this temporary production halt from May 1st to May 15th for annual plant maintenance activities, says Honda. Depending on the prevailing Covid-19 situation and market recovery, Honda will soon review its production plan in subsequent months, a statement from the company said.
However, all Honda office associates will continue to work from home to maintain business while extending support to customers and business partners. Only essential staff will work at plants and offices, HMSI said.

Earlier, Hero MotoCorp also had announced its temporary halt in operations at its manufacturing facilities across the country, including its global parts centre, from April 22th to May 1st, in a categorised manner.
