New Delhi: On the inaugural day of a three – day conference, the Defence minister Rajnath Singh, on Wednesday, praised the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its brisk formation of assets at forward locations in response to the border dispute with China in eastern Ladakh, and remarked that it has sent a strong message to “adversaries”.
The nation’s courage to defend its sovereignty stands firm and that the people of the country have full confidence in the capability of its armed forces, the Defence minister said, while addressing the top commanders of the IAF.
“The professional manner in which IAF conducted the air strikes in Balakot as well as rapid deployment of IAF assets at forward locations in response to the prevailing situation in eastern Ladakh has sent a strong message to the adversaries,” the Defence ministry said in a release.
Singh, further mentioned the continuous efforts to mitigate the tension along the Line of Actual Control (LoC) and urged the IAF to be prepared to handle any possibility.
Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, the Chief of Air staff said that the IAF was well prepared to retaliate short term as well as strategic threats and the units were “evenly poised” to counter any aggressive action by the adversary.
The response by all commands in ensuring formation and readiness of forces was prompt and laudable, he added.
