New Delhi: On Saturday, about 48,916 new Coronavirus cases were recorded in India pushing the total count to nearly 13, 36, 861, while the death count due to the infection has climbed to 31,358 with 757 news deaths.
“Whilst 8, 49, 431 patients have recovered from the infection, there are about 4, 56, 071 active cases in the country. Thus, about 63.54 per cent people have recovered so far.
“India’s active COVID-19 caseload stands at 4,56,071, while 8,49,431 people have recovered from disease so far,” shows the Union Health Ministry records.
Maharashtra remains to be the worst affected state in the country with 3, 57,117 cases including 1, 44,018 active cases and 13,132 deaths.
National capital Delhi is the second most affected state, with 1,28,389 cases including 13,681 active cases and 3,777 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu, which has 1,99,749 cases with 53,132 active cases and 3,320 deaths.
