Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javdekar on Friday said that, Climate change is not a result of recent actions but of historical actions, USA has 25% and EU has 22% of historical emissions whereas India has 3% : Union Minister

In a briefing Prakash Javdekar said that, “Climate change isn’t an overnight phenomenon, it has taken the last 100 years. India is taking steps to reduce its emissions as a responsible member of the global community.”
He further said that, India is not solely responsible for climate change, it is one of the few countries that has complied to the Paris Agreement.
Prakash Javdekar added, We had committed to reduce emission intensity of GDP by 33-35% by 2030, of which we have already achieved 21% and remaining will be achieved in next 10 years”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to address the global climate summit on 12th of December on the 5th anniversary of the landmark Paris Climate Agreement, Javadekar said.
