Congress leader Rahul Gandhi once again lashed out PM Narendra Modi and his government for economic distress, poor management of Covid-19 pandemic and external aggression at borders, accusing that India is reeling under “Modi-made disasters”.
His attack came after two days the official data released, which shows that the country’s economy suffered its worst drop on record in April-June, with a contraction of 23.9 per cent in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as the Covid 19 lockdown weighed on the declining consumer demand and investment.
“India is reeling under Modi-made disasters: Historic GDP reduction -23.9%; Highest Unemployment in 45 years; 12 crore job loss; centre not paying states GST dues; globally highest COVID-19 daily cases, deaths; external aggression at our borders,” Gandhi tweeted on Wednesday morning.
On Monday, Rahul Gandhi made allegations on Modi led government of destroying the informal sector of the country’s economy and government wants to break this sector.
The BJP government has been attacking the informal sector over the past 6 years. I am giving you three massive examples right now — Demonetization, wrong GST and Lockdown,” he said in video series made on economy.
However, BJP had mocked him saying he should release a video about the “G-23”, a reference to the 23 leaders who wrote to the Congress chief seeking the party’s overhaul.
