Maharashtra News: As Maharashtra is facing another strong surge in COVID-19 cases currently, many restrictions on travel and businesses are in place already, Now, Maharashtra ruling party Shiv Sena’s newspaper Saamana has published an editorial in its daily newspaper indicating another possible Lockdown or furthering stringent measures in the state to tackle Covid-19 cases.
The Saamana editorial questioned whether Maharashtra is up for another imminent lockdown and asked people to maintain self-discipline in public places in order to prevent another lockdown from happening, that will restrict people’s movement greatly. The editorial blamed BJP party in the centre for not taking enough precautions of the second wave in the country.
The editorial criticised BJP’s act of hoisting a victory flag in Bengal and neglecting that there is no big threat of COVID-19 cases in Bengal until the visits of PM in Bengal are completely over.
Yesterday Maharashtra’s guardian Minister Aslam Sheikh told media outlets in the state that CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray himself is open to suggestions of another lockdown by public department officials if necessary, to contain further spread of infections in the state. It can be a night curfew, partial lockdown in some places of Maharashtra.
The districts of Thane and Nashik in Maharashtra were put under restrictions on Tuesday. 16 hotspots in Thane are under lockdown currently.
