Aurangabad: On Friday, BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. Bhagwat Karad, alleged that Maharashtra state government has attempted to hide the amount of COVID-19 cases in Aurangabad, by reducing the no. Of tests carried out in the district.
MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad, claimed that the state government has not made an effective use of the testing capacity of the district.
“Earlier, when one person tested positive, at least 80 to 90 suspects were examined. This strategy had helped control coronavirus cases in Aurangabad,” he said.
However, he alleged that despite of being equipped in carrying out the tests effectively, the district has failed to do so. The Maharashtra government has been trying to hide the actual figure of COVID-19, claimed Dr. Karad.
“If the administration claims that 7,000 to 9,000 people can be quarantined at facilities in the district, then why are close contacts of positive patients placed in home quarantine?” he said, claiming that the quarantine facilities have not been utilized properly.
