The world’s 1st Floating Apple Store was officially opened in Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. The dome of the Apple Store was Partly inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. According to the reports the newly opened store has around 148 employees who collectively speak over 23 languages. There were many people excited to visit the store on its opening day but due to Covid-19 the entry was restricted.
Today Apple’s CEO Tim Cook took to twitter to present the New Apple’s Floating store in Singapore he said in his tweet, “Our retail stores bring the best of Apple together and we’re so proud to welcome you to our newest home in Singapore — the breathtaking Apple Marina Bay Sands. Enjoy the view!”
The architecture was done by Studio Foster + Partners which it describes as its “most ambitious retail project”. The Apple store at Marina Bay is the 3rd Apple store in Singapore in just over 3 years.
The store is accessed via a 45-metre-long underwater tunnel from the nearby shopping complex, the store is surrounded on all sides by the bay – creating the impression that it is floating.
“Appearing as a sphere floating on the iridescent Marina Bay, the store introduces a new and captivating retail experience at one of the most iconic locations in Singapore.”
The store’s main space is an open-plan area within the 30-metre-diameter, self-supporting glass and steel dome. The structure is made from 114 pieces of glass with 10 narrow, steel vertical mullions for structural support.
As of August 2020 the Apple’s Net worth is around $2 trillion.
According to the report apple’s Annual event (WWDC) is on September 15th 2020, where new range of Iphones, Apple Watch, Ipads will be released.
