World News: The United States of America and Russia both have agreed to extend the arms control agreement for another year. In fact, on Tuesday, Russia said that it is willing to keep the number of nuclear weapons at the current limit.

Along with this, it also offered that it was ready to accept the US proposal to extend the previous arms control agreement between the two countries for one year.

At the same time, US State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus welcomed Russia’s offer. She said that America is ready to implement the agreement fast. Ortagus said in a statement that we appreciate Russia’s willingness to progress on the issue of nuclear weapons control.

She said that the US is ready to meet immediately to finalize a verifiable agreement. We hope that Russia will give powers to its diplomats to do so. Earlier, the statement of Russia’s Foreign Ministry is different from its earlier stand on this matter.

Both Russia and the US rejected each other’s proposals in the context of the ‘New Start’ treaty that ended in February. After that, Russia’s ministry said that if America does it too, then it is ready for agreement and does not make any additional demands.

By the way, both the America and Russia have arms stock. But Russia has a much higher weapon range than the US. Russia continues to invest money to develop new systems of nuclear-capable weapons.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has refused to accept any additional demands by Washington. In a statement, the extension of one year has been accepted because the United States will no longer add any further conditions to it nor anyone else will talk.

But the terms with which this agreement was reached will be considered. It will be renewed after one year. Then the terms and conditions will be changed.
