Islamabad: The threat of a ban on flying in 188 countries is hovering over Pakistan Airlines.
This action could be taken on Pakistan for not complying with the international standards set by the ‘Pilot License Scam and International Civil Aviation Organization’.
Before this, the UK and European Union have banned the flights of Pakistan International Airlines.
In August it was revealed that 262 pilots of Pakistan had obtained license through fake documents.
The ICAO in its 12th meeting approved a mechanism for security concerns of member countries after the license scam surfaced. The organization then issued a serious warning to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority on the issue of safety.
As a result of this letter, it is believed that airlines operating from Pakistan can be stopped from flying in 188 countries.
It has also been mentioned in the report of Pakistani newspaper ‘The Express Tribune’. At the same time, amid fears of a ban, a spokesperson of the Pakistan Airlines Pilots Association (Palpa) says that its consequences will be quite severe. If banned, it would be a disaster for the country’s aviation industry.
