Speaking to Times of India, Saira Banu said, “I am elated every time I receive the same news that the government is trying to turn Yusuf Saab’s ancestral home in Peshawar’s North West Frontier province into a monument for posterity. I have always appreciated the tenacity with which the government is trying to convert the house into a museum. I hope this time the dream comes true”.

Saira Banu is an Indian film actress. She is married to film actor Dilip Kumar. She acted in many hit Bollywood films between 1961 and 1988.

Saira Banu further added that, “The home is of great sentimental value to my husband. When he had last visited the place, he became very emotional”.

Dilip Kumar’s ancestral property, which is currently in not so good condition. The house is located in the Qissa Khwani Bazar area, and the house is over 100 years old, and the Pakistani government wants to refurbish it and convert it into a museum of sorts for cinema lovers.

Mohammed Yusuf Khan, known professionally as Dilip Kumar, is an Indian actor, producer and philanthropist who is best known for his work in Indian cinema. Popularly known as The Tragedy King and The First Khan, he has been credited with bringing realism to film acting since his first film.
