PhonePe is owned by Walmart and supported by Flipkart now and converted into an independent company after a valuation of $5.5 billion. Company states that this decision is taken to make a bright future and more innovations in PhonePe. This decision will help PhonePe to realize its potential and grow more for tough competition in Market.

PhonePe is a digital payment gateway developed by Bangalore based Flipkart employees. Officials said that both platforms are working well in their respective fields. Both have a dominant approach in India. Each firm has 250 million active users. Hence, to provide long term edits and raise more capital for the development of PhonePe, spin off to be done.

Experts say that this is the right time for making PhonePe an independent company. As the market is at an all-time high level and many investors are interested in this firm.

Now, Flipkart has 87% stake in the company instead of 100%. Also, PhonePe surpassed Google Pay to become the most used online payment platform.
