Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced an advance interim assistance of Rs 1,000cr to the cyclone hit in West Bengal and Rs.500cr to Odisha
PM Modi did an aerial survey of cyclone hit areas in West Bengal and attended a meeting with CM Mamta Banerjee in Basirhat in North 24 pragnas district.
He later also visited Odisha and did an aerial survey of the cyclone hit areas i.e. Bhadrak and Balasore.

Also during his visits he announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of each of those killed during the devastation caused by cyclone Amphan, and Rs 50,000 for the injured in West Bengal.
After the review meeting, Mamata said that Bengal has suffered losses of more than Rs 1 lakh crore due to super cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’, which has killed 80 people and left thousands homeless in the state.
She said it’ll take time to revive normalcy, with cyclone ‘Amphan’ having ravaged a minimum of seven to eight districts in Bengal, and adversely impacting 60 per cent of the state’s population.
