Lucknow: On Friday,Prime Minister Narendra Modi, launched the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyaan’ which aspires to promote local entrepreneurship and develop partnership with industrial hubs to provide employment opportunities.
Aatma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyaan, a fragment of the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan started earlier, was launched via video conferencing, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Villages across all the districts of Uttar Pradesh joined the event through Common Service Center’s and Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s.
“Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Abhiyaan aims to promote local entrepreneurship along with providing employment opportunities to migrant workers,” said Prime Minister.
The project aims to cover 31 districts of the state, and generate employment for more than 30 lakh migrant labourers who returned home during the lockdown.
“Over. 1.25 crore migrant workers who lost their jobs due to coronavirus pandemic are likely to benefit from this unique initiative. 35 lakh migrants returned to Uttar Pradesh and over 30 lakh migrant workers were also covered under skill mapping,” said Yogi Adityanath.
