Pune: According to the predictions of IMD (India Meteorological Department) Pune city will likely experience heavy rainfall in the coming week there will be intense rainfall on September 15th across Pune city.
Anupam Kashyapi, head, Weather department, IMD, Pune. Said,”The low pressure is likely to form off Andhra Pradesh in the Bay of Bengal on September 13. As this system moves westwards, by September 14 the Southwest monsoon will become vigorous over Maharashtra. As a result heavy rain is expected over most parts of the state, including Pune district, during September 14 to 16”.
An official said,”Besides, an off-shore trough positioned in the Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast will also add to the favourable weather conditions for the monsoon revival over the state.”
This rainy season, Pune city has recorded 722 mm of rainfall, which is around 46% above normal rainfall. Most of the rainfall was recorded in the month of August.
According to the IMD data Pune reported 40-50mm rainfall between September 11th and 12th.
On Sunday Raigad, Mumbai, Palghar in konkan region are likely to recorded heavy rainfall. On September 15th Pune city will experience heavy rainfall especially in the Ghat areas.
