Pune: No cinema halls will open, despite government orders

Pune: During the unlock guidelines there is no order for opening of the cinema halls. While the Maharashtra state Govt allowed in opening of Movie halls from 5th November 2020

Pune News: During the unlock guidelines there is no order for opening of the cinema halls. While the Maharashtra state Govt allowed in opening of Movie halls from 5th November 2020 but the question arises whether reinstating cinema halls in the Pune region is not clear.

Many of the Movie halls owners had conveyed about their concerns that if the movie halls were started during this pandemic period than it would not come under the budget to the mass. In respect to the other owners conveyed that they will allow only 50% of the total mass due to the safe distancing norms.

Afterwards, the Poona Exhibitors Association and the Pune Film Owners Association had decided not to start the film theaters.

The President of Pune Theatre owner and the distributor, Sadanand Mohol, said, “If you start theatres now, it will cost twice of the previous rates because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Also, the question is, how many people will come to watch movies. Families won’t be able to watch any film together. So, if the audience is low, we won’t generate any profits. Therefore, we won’t start single movie theatres until the COVID-19 vaccine comes.”
