According to the report of CPCB ( central pollution control board) says that there are total 18,006 tones of biomedical Covid-19 waste generated in last four months ,in which Maharashtra is the largest contributor in India with 3,587 tones waste .

In the month if September , around 5,500 tones of Covid-19 waste was generated across the country.
The report which is sanctioned by the State pollution control board, since from June all the Union territory and states have generated total 18,006 tones of Covid biomedical waste , the waste was being processed , collected , treated and lastly dissed by total 198 biomedical waste treatment facilities .
The total waste includes the Masks , PPE kits , show covers , gloves, contaminated blood , body fluids, plaster, syringes , needles etc.
The report says that , Maharashtra had generated total 3,587 tones of Covid waste from four months since June. The data of other states are Uttar Pradesh generated 1,432 tones , west Bengal generated 1000tones ,Tamil Nadu generated 1,737 tones , Delhi – 1,400 tones and Karnataka – 1380 tones of Covid waste .

The total data is of 5,240 tones of COVID-19 waste was generated in the month of August in which 1,359 tones was in Maharashtra, and 588 tones each in the states of Kerala and Karnataka.
The government said that if the situation will not get under control we will face many natural problems.
