Mumbai: Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested in a drug case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput after being in jail for almost a month, has come out of Byculla jail at around 5:30 this evening. The petition for the bail of his brother Showik Chakraborty is dismissed.
On Tuesday, the sessions court of Mumbai extended the judicial custody of Riya Chakraborty by 14 days.
But today, the court has granted bail to Rhea on a bond of Rs.1 lakh and has told her that after release she will have to come to the police station for 10 days. Not only this, the court asked Rhea to submit her passport to the police and is not allowed to leave the country or Mumbai without permission.
Rhea’s application was rejected twice from the lower court, after which she approached the High Court. After which the Bombay High Court granted bail to Rhea on Wednesday.
Along with Rhea, Deepak Sawant and Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda have also been granted bail by the court. However, Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty’s petition has been rejected.
