Russia: The vaccine, developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, received the confirmation from the Russian Health Ministry on Tuesday, Putin revealed. He said that he hoped that Russia would soon start mass production of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin told,”One of my daughters got the vaccine. In this sense, she took part in the experiment. After the first vaccination, she had a temperature of 38, the next day – 37 and that was all.”
Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the vaccine would be administered to healthcare workers beginning in September. It will be available to the general public on a voluntary basis starting in January.
“I know that it works quite effectively, forms strong immunity, and I repeat, it has passed all the needed checks,” said Putin.
Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya National Research Centre, said that vaccine used inanimate particles created on the basis of adenovirus, according to Sputnik News.
He further said there are no concerns that the vaccine could potentially cause harm to a person’s health. “The particles and objects that can reproduce their own kind are the ones that are considered alive. The particles in question cannot multiply,”
