Gadget Insights: Since Sony launched the PlayStation 5 (Review), buyers are seeing a shortage of this newest gaming console in the market.

Sony has reportedly confirmed that the availability and supply of console will remain in shortage even though in 2022 as well. As reported by Bloomberg, Sony warned its analysts about the same recently.
The company revealed that it has already sold 7.8 million units of PS5 consoles till 31st March this year and is aiming to sell 14.8 million consoles in the ongoing fiscal year. The shortage of semiconductors that has been crippling the entire world, is the reason why PS5 consoles are still in shortage at large.

According to Bloomberg, at a private interaction, Hiroki Totoki, Chief Financial Officer at Sony said, that demand is not calming down this year as well and even if a lot more devices are secured to produce more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, the supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand.

The company, Sony has not given any estimated timeline as when to expect the supply will get back to normal.
