Mumbai: Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali statement, in connection with suicide case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, will be recorded on Monday, a police official said, on Friday.
“We will ask Sanjay Leela Bhansali to record his statement this week in connection with the suicide case of Rajput,” the officer said.
The Bandra police have notified the veteranBollywood director and he will join the investigation on Monday, when his statement will be recorded, the official added.
Bhansali had offered films to Rajput but could not work with him due to his contract with Yash Raj Films (YRF). He will be questioned over two of his big films – Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, which were first offered to Sushant Singh Rajput, however, later, the films featured Ranveer Singh.
Statements of 28 people have been examined as yet in the case including Sushant Singh Rajput’s family members, friends, colleagues, girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma, publicist Rohini Iyer, co-star Sanjana Sanghi, and mentor and director of Dil Bechara, Mukesh Chhabra.
Sushant Singh Rajput, aged 34, was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his Bandra residence on June 14.
