Andhra Pradesh had already banned this activity and Puducherry is seeking the permission from centre for banning apps and games that allow online betting. Tamil Nadu Government had also banned online betting and punishments are stated for those who are doing it illegally.

After losing money in online betting, people are doing suicide because of depression. The Supreme Court is also reviewing the decision to ban online betting in India. In Tamil Nadu, people who are involved in online betting illegally can be imprisoned for 6 months with a fine of Rs.5,000.
