New Delhi: Space agency NASA has launched ‘ Nesignes spaceship ‘ named Kalpana Chawla, the first female astronaut in space.
The Northrop Grumman Company always names its signature spacecraft after a person who played a key role in a human space flight.
Kalpana Chawla was chosen for this honor because she created history as the first astronaut of Indian origin.

SS Kalpana Chawla is a re-supply ship
SS Kalpana Chawla is a re-supply ship. Its main function is to supply refueling to the space station (ISS) in space.

SS Kalpana Chawla will reach the International Space Station (ISS) after two days. With its help, 3629 kg of goods will be delivered to the ISS.
Twice postponed launching, Earlier, SS Kalpana Chawla was scheduled to launch on September 29 but could not be done due to bad weather. Then it was scheduled to be launched again on Friday but it could not be launched just 2 minutes 40 seconds ago due to a defect in its ground support equipment. The information of which was tweeted by NASA.
In September itself, Northrop Grumman announced to name his spaceship after Kalpana Chawla. The same company says that we are proud to name our next NG-14 Cygnus spacecraft after Kalpana Chawla. The spacecraft has been launched from NASA’s Space Center in Virginia.
The mission is named NG-14. It has been launched with the help of Antares rocket.
