1.] Delhi govt. decides to cancel state universities exams.
In the wake of COVID – 19, Delhi govt. has decided to cancel the final semester examinations of the state universities, said Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, on Saturday. The students will be promoted on the basis of an evaluation method chosen by the universities, he added. (ANI)
2.] Mumbai: Fire struck at Indraprastha shopping center, Borivali.
A fire struck at Indraprastha shopping center in Borivali (west), Mumbai, at 3.05 am, on Saturday. Around 14 fire engines, 13 jumbo water tankers, a fire robot were rushed at the site of incidence. No casualties were reported, a fire official said. (ANI)
3.] COVID – 19: India records 27,114 new cases, total case cross 8 lakhs.
On Saturday, 27, 114 new coronavirus cases were recorded in India within 24 hours, pushing the total count to 8, 20,916, Union Heath Ministry said. The active no. of cases in the country stand at 2, 83,407, while 5, 15,538 patients have recovered. The fatality count has risen to 22,123. (PTI)
4.] Elon Musk surpasses Mukesh Ambani, becomes world’s 7th richest.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla has become the world’s seventh richest man with an increase of $6.1 billion, on Friday, shows the Forbes Real Time Billionaires Index. Musk, with a net worth of $70.5 billion, is now ahead of Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin, Mukesh Ambani and Warren Buffett. (Forbes)
5.] “Nepotism pushed me to take chances with new filmmakers”: Abhay Deol
On Saturday, Actor Abhay Deol, posted a picture on Instagram, stating that his uncle Dharmendra was an outsider who made it big in Bollywood, said “I’ve gone that extra mile in career to make my own path, something that my uncle always encouraged”. He further said, “Nepotism is prevalent everywhere… I was well aware of it,” adding “And it pushed me to take chances with new directors… producers throughout my career.” (Instagram)
6.] Instagram ban posts promoting ‘conversion therapy’ for LGBT.
Instagram has banned posts or videos that promote the “conversion therapy” for LGBT community. Conversion therapy attempts to ‘change’ a person’s sexuality or gender identity. “We don’t allow attacks against people based on sexual orientation or gender identity,” a spokesperson said. Some countries have banned the practice for minors.
7.] A chemical truck overturned in Thane, Mumbai.
The truck was carrying the chemical (Methyl Methacrylate) which overturned in Ghodbunder Road near Gaimukh Chowpatty in Thane. There was no injuries and casualties what so ever. The fire tenders were present on the site and the rescue operation is in process. However the driver of the truck was injured and moved to the nearby hospital.
8.] Leopard Injured 2 people in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad 2 people were injured, When a Leopard entered in the residential area in Thakurdwara. The locals injured the leopard too. District Forest Officer, Kanhaiya Patel said, “ Leopard was sent to veterinary hospital and it is expected to recover” and the conditions of the 2 injured people are not critical and expected to be recovered soon.
9.] Ganesh Utsav Notice to all Mandals.
A circular was issued by State Home Department regarding Ganesh Utsav in the circular it is mentioned making it mandatory to all ‘Mandals’ to take the permission prior from the municipalities or local authorities concerned in the respective areas and it is compulsory for all to get the Ganesha Idol height not more than 4 feet.
10.] Arvind Kejriwal writes to PM about Cancellation of Final Year Examinations.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal writes a letter to Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the Cancellation of Final Year’s examinations of Delhi University and the other central university due to this increasing cases of Coronavirus.
