TikTok is the destination for short-form mobile videos. They recently took hit from India, when India banned Social Media app TikTok over privacy concerns, and even United States of America and Australia are now concerned over TikTok’s Privacy issues. Even Pakistan is planning to Ban Tiktok. TikTok is stuck in this scrutiny. TikTok is owned by China-based Byte Dance company.
Now even Pakistan has decided to block TikTok for failing to remove “immoral” contents. Three Pakistan Government officials said on Friday.
In the month of July, Pakistan’s telecommunications regulator issued a “final warning” to TikTok over explicit content posted on the platform.
“We have been asking them repeatedly to put in place an effective mechanism for blocking immoral and indecent content,” one of the officials directly involved in the decision told Reuters.
“The platform, however, hasn’t been able to fully satisfy Pakistani authorities. The decision has been taken to block TikTok for accessing in Pakistan,” he further said.
This decision was taken after Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan took interest in this issue, said a second official in Pakistan.
Imran Khan has told the telecom authorities to make all efforts to block vulgar content in the conservative Islamic republic.
