Latest News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulates 49kg Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu for bagging a silver medal for her stupendous performance in Tokyo Olympics.

Mirabai Chanu created history when she became India’s first Olympic weightlifting silver medalist. Chanu has made an account for India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the silver medal.
Chanu was seen as one of India’s strongest medal contenders at the Olympics this year and was in fine form in the build-up to the Games. Mirabai finished the snatch round with an 87-kilogram best valid lift. In the clean and jerk, she stated that her first lift was 110 pounds. Mira was more likely to win because she has the C&J world record of 119kg. It had to be done, though. She calmly ascended the stage and received all three green lights before releasing her grip on the iron bar. It was a resounding affirmation of her silver status.
