United States News:U.S’ Centre for Disease Control has relaxed masks mandates for those who are vaccinated, saying that fully vaccinated Americans in U.S need not wear masks anymore outside except in huge gatherings. This announcement from U.S’ CDC hints at the country’s progress back to normalcy from the pandemic.

For the last one year since the pandemic hit the U.S, CDC continuously stressed upon people to wear masks outdoors and to stay within six feet of distance from each other. CDC Director Dr.Rochelle Walensky said that today is the day when we are going to take our step back to normalcy and addressed the set of activities, people can freely engage, once vaccinated.
This new update in COVID-19 guidelines comes as over 140 million people, half of U.S’ population has received at least the first dose of vaccine. With vaccination numbers improving day-by-day, infection cases and deaths related to COVID-19 has also been going down. Less than 10% of the cases reported are of outdoor transmission.

U.S President Joe Biden says that “The bottom line is clear: If you’re vaccinated, you can do more things, more safely, both outdoors as well as indoors, So for those who haven’t gotten their vaccinations yet, especially if you’re younger or thinking you don’t need it, this is another great reason to go get vaccinated now.”
Some experts consider this will be a motivating factor for people sceptical of vaccines to get vaccinated as well. CDC issued a set of activities that which vaccinated and unvaccinated people can engage in. Masks for vaccinated people are not anymore necessary in case they wanted to attend small indoor or outdoor gatherings.
In the U.S, people are vaccinated with the doses provided by Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson. But masks are recommended in indoor public places like malls, supermarkets, gyms, studios, salons and bars.
