Cinematic Bollywood: Yash Raj Films to launch its own OTT platform and content?– For the past one year, since the pandemic forced upon an unlikely lockdown upon us causing most of the public entertainment spots like theatres, cinema halls and multiplexes to shut down, people have been largely depending upon OTT platforms for their supply of entertainment.

The demand for OTT platforms subscriptions like Amazon Prime, Netflix Disney + Hotstar and many others have been gradually going up. Though there was a period when theatres reopened in the country, it was short lived and was difficult to be grabbed by many filmmakers. Given this sudden shift in consumption of content, many producers have either found it easy or difficult to adapt to the new changes.
Now, one of India’s largest filmmaker Yash Raj Films Productions headed by Aditya Chopra is also contemplating of its own first OTT channel application. According to a source, the production company is factoring in a number of things from content on the channel, acquisition and negotiation for newer contents with new makers and many before launching its OTT space.

Yash Raj Films OTT Platform:
Apparently, YRF and Aditya Chopra are eyeing to make something big in the OTT space and a big announcement of a new OTT space will be there soon. But still, with no other choices in the way and uncertainty over return back to normalcy the company is considering this choice.
The new OTT platform will have spaces for both long and short format of OTT contents and a separate film space as well. Before venturing in, the company will consider all its pros and cons it will be to its business, since theatre and OTT content production will be completely two different entities.
